2025 Redeemer Men’s Retreat
Texas Baptist Encampment
100 First Street Palacios, Texas 77465
RETREAT OVERVIEW:
On Friday & Saturday evenings we will participate together in worship, prayer, listening to speakers, learning together in small group conversations, communion and camaraderie. On Saturday morning/afternoon we will have three (3) different recreational activity options for fellowship: fishing, golf and an organized historical tour around the Palacios area. We will conclude on Sunday morning with a sunrise service followed by breakfast. We will then depart for Manvel in time to re-join our families for the 10:45am service at Redeemer Church.
2025 RETREAT THEME/TEACHING:
"One of the servants answered, “I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man.
And the Lord is with him.” 1 Samuel 16:18
In the Bible, the way the first two kings of Israel are talked about could not be more different. While both these men possessed the same kind of influence and power, the difference in the reasons for the life trajectory of these two kings can be summarized in this one statement spoken about King David: “the Lord is with him.”
Men today have a difficult choice to make when it comes to how they lead their daily lives in a culture obsessed with pursuing wealth, power, and “climbing the ladder” at any and all costs. Pastor Jon Tyson writes, “The most important thing [a man] can do is build his life around the presence of God. It's learning to disciple your attention to acknowledge the reality of God in all of life. To build rhythms of remembrance about who God is and what he has done. It's to make your faith public and visible, not just private and devotional.”
We invite you to join us at the Redeemer men’s retreat. As men, we have many important responsibilities, but none more important than leading ourselves and our families in the practices of encountering God, serving Him and discipling those around us. Join us as we set aside this time to recenter our attention on the presence of God in our daily lives.
